Lunch time dessert
8/12/13 - Today I tried a new dessert at White Duck Taco in Asheville. This popular lunch spot in West Asheville also has a daily dessert, which today was the Salted caramel macaroon cake. This dessert reminded me a lot of the coconut pie that my mother used to make when I was a child. It was a round, tart looking cake, very moist like a custard. The very different touch was the salted caramel sauce. I really liked the combination, as it was a surprise blending of flavors. My profile picture has the cake pictured along with me. I should say that my husband did not care for the flavors, but is not generally fond of coconut. I would definitely order this again, but I did think that it was a little pricey.
